Newsletter June 6, 2012

Dear Parents:                                                                                                                 June 6, 2012

Greeting to all.

We would like to inform you that we have reached the final stages of our inquiry into the theme “Who We Are.”

UOI:  This week importance was given to the skeletal system.  The children visited the biology lab, where Mr. Renjith an eminent facilitator of our school interacted with the students.  With the help of the model of a skeletal, he talked about human bones, joints and muscles.  His unique poetic style used during his lectures was very impressive.  The students had a calcium party, where calcium-rich food was shared with the teachers and students.  They had also invited the principal.  The students were able to grasp the importance of calcium for bone growth.  The children were also shown an animated picture of human joints/

Maths:  Students were taught multiplying of 5 digit numbers by 3 digits.

English:  The children put on their imaginative caps wrote stories.  Concepts of pronouns were also reinforced.

The students submitted their first formative assessment.  The date, portion and rubrics for the second formative exam have been given to the students.  It will be conducted on July 10, 2012.

We are proud of Sredha Riju who got the third prize for “Twist A Tale” competition held at Junior School.

We are planning to have our second formative assessment the coming week.  The rubrics and portions have been sent home.

Warm Wishes
Homeroom Teachers
